The return of upper class snobbery in Britain (was it ever really gone?)
Στερεότυπα στη Daily Mail-land, ΜΜΕ και αλλού:
"in popular culture, the working class is everywhere, albeit successively demonised in comedy or in debate around fear, crime and antisocial behaviour - seen through caricature while patronised by reality TV. Arguably, the cumulative effect of this is that the working class itself has been dehumanised - now to be feared and simultaneously served up as entertainment."
(Chav is a slang term which has been in wide use throughout the United Kingdom since 2004. It refers to a subcultural stereotype of a person with fashions such as flashy "bling" jewellery and counterfeit designer clothes or sportswear, an uneducated, uncultured, impoverished background, a tendency to congregate around places such as fast-food outlets, bus stops, or other shopping areas, and a culture of antisocial behaviour.)
