    ken kere tomar konsejo

Chi Chi Bunichi has taken its inspiration from a sephardic song; and in particular two recordings of the same song unearthed by a granddaughter. One is of her grandmother singing in her kitchen, and the second, is of her great grandfather recorded 40 years earlier.

Ladino folksong meets contemporary choreography in a nomadic journey through Sarajevo to Jerusalem; Dalston via Famagusta. Unfurled in a domestic urban gathering, Chi Chi Bunichi is an intimate dance with harmonium, ukulele, recorded and live voices celebrating stories of diaspora, displacement, dollars and desire. Come fall into the arms of real people.

Come fall into the arms of real people.
